Health Innovation West Midlands (HIWM) is proud to have been recognised with the Innovation in Health & Care Award at the SME News Midlands Enterprise Awards 2026.

This recognition reflects the dedication, expertise and collaborative spirit of our team, as well as the strength of the partnerships we have built across the health and care system. It acknowledges our ongoing work to support the adoption and spread of innovation that improves outcomes for patients, supports healthcare professionals and strengthens services across the West Midlands.

As the innovation arm of the NHS in the region, HIWM works with healthcare providers, industry, academia, local authorities and innovators to accelerate the development, evaluation and implementation of solutions that address some of the most pressing challenges facing health and care. By connecting partners, sharing expertise and supporting the spread of proven innovations, we help ensure that new ideas can deliver real-world impact at scale.

Over the past year, we have continued to work closely with partners across the West Midlands to improve patient safety, tackle health inequalities, support economic growth and enable the adoption of innovations that make a meaningful difference to people’s lives. This award recognises not only the achievements of our organisation, but also the collective efforts of the wider regional ecosystem that is committed to transforming health and care through innovation.

The Midlands Enterprise Awards celebrate organisations that demonstrate excellence, innovation and leadership within their sectors. We are delighted that our contribution to advancing innovation in health and care has been recognised alongside so many successful organisations from across the region.
