Health Innovation West Midlands announces appointment of new Chief Executive 

Health Innovation West Midlands (HIWM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Risino as its new Chief Executive. 

Amanda was formerly HIWM’s Director of Corporate Affairs and Performance, bringing significant organisational insight and a strong track record in helping to shape HIWM’s strategy, governance and delivery. She brings significant organisational insight and extensive experience across health innovation, transformation, and partnership working. 

Jonathan Pearson, Chair of Health Innovation West Midlands, said: 

“I am delighted to share that she has been appointed as our new Chief Executive. She brings leadership experience and a strong track record in driving innovation that delivers real impact for patients and the health and care system.” 

Jonathan continued: 

“I’m sure our stakeholders and staff alike will welcome Amanda into her new role as she continues our drive to transform healthcare through innovation across the West Midlands and beyond.” 

As CEO, Amanda will lead HIWM in strengthening collaboration across Integrated Care Systems, NHS England, academic partners and the wider Health Innovation Network. She will guide the organisation into its next phase, ensuring that innovation continues to translate into measurable improvements for patients, services and communities. 

Amanda said on her appointment: 

“It’s an honour to step into the role of CEO at Health Innovation West Midlands. Having worked here for the last two years, I’ve seen first‑hand the creativity, diversity and ambition that make this region so special. I’m excited by the opportunity to help turn bold ideas into better health for our communities. I’m also privileged to continue working alongside an incredibly skilled team who are passionate about reducing health inequalities, scaling innovation, and improving both the health and wealth of our region.”
